Hi, I’m Victor Garcia — a documentary and portrait photographer currently based in Charleston, SC.
I shoot with heart, intention, and a focus on story.
My work lives between real life and creative concept. I’m drawn to emotion, mood, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed. Whether I’m out in the world with my camera or building a set from scratch, I aim to make images that feel honest, personal, and a little unexpected. Most recently, I’ve been working on A Place of Our Own, a portrait series celebrating queer families and joy in the South.
In my documentary work, I explore environments and the people who shape them. I’ve photographed life in Charleston, Paris, and New York—always chasing light, shadow, and story. I’m interested in the subtle moments that say something bigger: gestures, textures, and the space in between.
In my portrait work, collaboration is everything. I work closely with individuals, couples, and families to make portraits that reflect who they are—not just what they look like. Sometimes that means crafting a conceptual set. Other times, it’s quiet and stripped down. Either way, every image is made with care.
I launched Victor Garcia Photography in 2020 to blend editorial polish with community-rooted storytelling. Since then, I’ve worked on a range of projects—from weddings and brand shoots to personal series that explore identity, queerness, and belonging.
I care about inclusion, trust, and representation. I want my work to reflect the world I believe in—where people feel seen and celebrated.
Based in Charleston. Available for projects in Paris and NYC by request.
